The high priest, Aaron, went in once a year during the days of the Old Testament on the Day of Atonement. He had a rope tied around him with bells in case he died in the presence of the Lord. He would take the blood from the sin offering and sprinkle it on the mercy seat. God would appear between the cherubim above the mercy seat.
We need a sin offering to come before God. Jesus is that offering! He paid the price for our sin for all once and for all by shedding His blood for us. He was the perfect sacrifice. The spotless Lamb. Who took away the sins of the world and allowed us to enter into God’s courts. We can go there at any time to find forgiveness and be cleansed, having our consciences sprinkled clean! Enter into His courts with praise and thanksgiving for what He has done!
